THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finding a convenient transport system connecting the sprawling campus of Technopark to the world outside has been a tedious task for the techies over the past several years. Now, giving some solace is Tech Bus, a bus service offering convenient pick and drop packages exclusively for the employees of the IT hub. The service can be accessed from the 24x7 call centre functioning in Technopark.
“Some six months ago, we held talks with the heads of the companies in Technopark to identify the transportation needs of the employees. Then the routes were fixed and service started early this month,” says Anand Shankar, marketing coordinator of Tech Bus service.
The bus has boarding points starting from Peroorkada, Palayam, Attingal, Pappanamcode, Pattom, Venjaramoodu and Thiruvallom. It is based on advance booking that the service would be available. Commuters are charged fares on daily, weekly and monthly basis. The service is offered by Hara Business Group.
Other than this Tech Bus, Technopark itself has been offering a bus service, Tech Express, connecting the areas in nearby Kazhakkoottam and the city. Though KSRTC buses regularly ply near Technopark, those which have stops inside the campus are rare.
Whereas, Tech Express and Tech Bus drop passengers on the campus, right in front of the respective buildings where their companies are situated.
Moreover, Volvo and luxury buses are deployed for these services. They are also equipped with GPS-tracking facility to ensure the safety of women travellers. The mobile application to track the bus routes is getting ready. The service can be accessed at 8111888039.
