Man Arrested for Carrying Pistol

A 43-year-old man was taken into custody for carrying a pistol at the domestic terminal of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Saturday.

According to police, Vinod Agarwal from Punjab was arrested after he was found carrying a pistol on his arrival at the airport.

Police are investigating the incident.

Vehicle Thief Held

The police on Saturday arrested notorious vehicle thief Unnikrishnan also known as Thiruvallam Unni.

The 36-year-old, who is wanted in over 100 cases of theft, was nabbed for possessing of a fake passport. According to the police, Unni, who was serving prison sentence on charges of 12 vehicle theft cases, was released on bail last week after which he attempted to leave the country with the fake passport.

Man Dies in Mishap

An unidentified man died after being hit by a bike at Kadakkavoor overbridge on Friday.

The body has been kept in the Medical College Hospital mortuary here since Friday.

The police said they recovered an abandoned bike on Saturday and was in the process of tracking down its owner.

Chain Snatcher Held

The Peroorkada police on Saturday arrested wanted chain snatcher Shaji alias Kunjumon from Chullimanoor.

The police also arrested Attipra Prashanth, Thenkasi Rajan and Feroz Khan who were wanted for various clashes along with Shaji.
