THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The anti-piracy cell of the state police has arrested a shop owner for possessing pirated and pornographic discs. The arrested was Saji of Thittayil House, Venniyoor, Cherunniyoor, Varkala, who owned ‘Movietrack’, a CD shop near Varkala Maidan Junction. The cell officials said in statement that 200 pirated discs and 25 pornographic CDs were seized from the accused.
The arrest followed a tip-off to cell SP B Varghese. The investigation team included inspector D K Prithwiraj, ASIs Vishnu Prasad, Aseem, CPO Rajesh and officials of the Varkala Police.
