Robotics and Automation Society Launched in City

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Kerala Section launched Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) chapter on Sunday.

Director of Kerala IT Mission Mohammed Y Safirulla inaugurated the chapter.

He said that IEEE plays a pivotal role in supporting students in engineering field. Safirulla observed that participation of academia, industries and government in devising technological advancement would yield more results.

“The combination of academia, industries and government in planning technology-assisted development would be beneficial,” he said.Engineering students from NIT Calicut, College of Engineering Trivandrum and Sree Chitra Engineering College showcased various working robots as part of the function.Chairman of IEEE Kerala Section Srinivasan Ravindran, Associate Professor of Robotics at National University Of Singapore Prahlad Vedakkedat and Robotics and Automation Society Chair, IEE Kerala Section Rejin Narayanan were also present at the function.
