'City Residents' Prayers Are With Sanju'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Soon-to-be senior Indian international cricketer Sanju V Samson was felicitated by the Federation of Residents’ Association Thiruvananthapuram (FRAT) here the other day.

The 19-year-old wicket keeper-batsman, who has been called up to the 17-strong Indian team for five one-day internationals and a one-off twenty20 match in the England tour, was honoured by FRAT at his residence at Vizhinjam here.

FRAT president T K Bhaskara Panicker felicitated Sanju by draping a ‘ponnada’ around the cricketer. General secretary Paraniyam Devakumar, office-bearers S Satheesh Chandran Nair, J Moses, N Samkunju and Thekkumoodu Sumesh   were also present on the occasion.

FRAT wished Sanju all the best for the matches in England. “The prayer of around 10 lakh people residing in various residents’ associations in the district will be with Sanju,” the FRAT president said.
