Alumni Biennale at IHMCT

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The alumni association along with the staff and students of Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT), Kovalam is organising the 4th Alumni Biennale at their campus. The alumni reunion to be held on Saturday, 16 August 2014.

The reunion also marks the 25th anniversary of the premier hospitality and culinary training feeder institution functioning under the Ministry of Tourism. With 25 years of service to its credit, the institute has carved a niche for itself in the hospitality industry.

The events organised as part of the alumni meet includes a Rock and fusion show led by renowned playback singer Sam Shiva accompanied by Q8 band at 12 pm. The alumni association also hosts a lunch as part of the celebration. At 4pm they are organising various sports matches -volleyball, basketball and football - between the current students and the alumni. A cocktail dinner with a band/DJ is also arranged at the Travanore Heritage for the alumni, teachers and family. Those who are attending the function to pay an event fee of Rs 500 (inclusive of lunch, souvenir and annual membership fees) + Rs 700 (inclusive of dinner, band and DJ). 2014 pass outs are exmpted from annual membership fees.

The alumni association(AAIHMK), apart from fostering and maintaining union and fellowship among the former students of the IHMCT, also works towards the improvement and development of the institute. It has also instituted scholarships and awards to promote the interests of the college.

They also claims that their motto is to create, foster and maintain union, friendship and fellowship among the former students of the IHMCT, Kovalam, Trivandrum. They also help to maintain links between the Alumni and the IHMCT and to perpetuate their interest in their Alma Mater. They aspire to provide inspiration and guidance to the students of the IHMCT, through the experiences and achievements of the Alumni. Many alumni and ex-faculty from around the world are expected to attend the reunion.
