THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kudumbashree has not only ensured food safety, but food justice too through its organic farming venture, said veteran journalist and Magsaysay Award winner P Sainath, inaugurating the media seminar organised as part of the 16th state annual meet of Kudumbashree here on Thursday.

“In its past activities, Kudumbashree could bring in gender equality and social justice. It has become a force that can take policy-related decisions,” he said.

Sainath said Kudumbashree has a clear socio-economic-environmental-micro level face beyond political parties. “Kudumbashree’s voice of resistance shall spread across the world from the regional level. The women have to come forward to make Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act more stronger in Kerala,” he said.

An interaction between CDS chairpersons from all 14 districts in the state and journalists was held.
