'Clean Campus' Drive: One Arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Police continued their combing drive on Thursday against shops selling cigarette, pan masala, drugs and alcohol near school premises.

In 64 raids across the state, one person was arrested and two cases registered.

The police have been conducting such raids since May 30 and 3,363 persons have been arrested so far.

The police said that more raids would be conducted. The State Police Chief has requested school authorities and the public to notify the police, in case they come to know about sale of alcohol or narcotic substances in school premises.

Held for Bid to Stab Neighbour

Vattiyoorkavu Police on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly attempting to stab his neighbour.

The arrested has been identified as Rajesh alias ‘Eruma’ Rajesh, son of Chandran.

He was arrested following a complaint lodged by Biju who suffered injuries during the attack.

According to police, many cases have been registered against Rajesh in the city.

Nedumangad district magistrate court remanded Rajesh for 14 days.
