Plan Gets DPC Nod

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Financial Plan of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation for 2014-15 was approved by the District Planning Committee (DPC) on Friday. As many as 1,814 projects to the tune of Rs 272.57 crore were approved by the DPC meeting convened at Collectorate here.

 The projects include 1,067 new projects and 747 spillover projects. A total of 41 projects will be sent to the Update Committee for approval.  Including this, the projects of District Panchayat and all the Local Self-Government institutions in the district have been approved by the DPC.  As many as 1,056 projects to the tune of Rs 124.77 crore have been okayed for the District Panchayat.

 District Panchayat president Ansajitha Russel, District Collector Biju Prabhakar, Sub-Collector Dr S Karthikeyan, ADM V R Vinod, District Planning Officer N Prassannakumari and members A J Sukarno, V K Sreeja, V R Sini and Malayinkeezhu Venugopal were also present in the meeting.
