Free Seminar, Test to Attract New Talents

A free one-day seminar - ONGO-2014 - for engineering students is being organised in the capital next week .The event is aimed at those who seek specialised training, hands-on job experience and high-ranking global positions in the lucrative oil and gas sector.  The endeavour is intended to bridge the gap between the growing demand for skilled engineers and stagnant entrant numbers owing to lack of specialised courses and awareness about this sector.

Petrocil, an acclaimed engineering design consultancy globally, and Petro Institute will jointly hold the seminar on February 28 at Institute of Engineers Hall, from 10 am. The event will attract engineering experts from public sector oil majors and leading petroleum consultancy professionals to speak on the occasion.

The last date to enrol for registration of  participants will be February 23. To select students with aptitude for specialised knowledge in petroleum sector, a one-hour objective type test ‘Challenge’ will be held on the same day at 8 am at Panchayat Association hall. Top scorers will be awarded cash prizes, apart from certificates and memento.

Contest toppers will also become eligible for concessional fees to specialised courses recognised by Indian government under National Centre for Labour and Learning, conducted by Petro Institute.

The seminar is  backed by Ministry of Education, Industrial Ministry, Ministry of Labour, KITCO, FEDO, Titanium, KMML, BPCL, VSSC, HLL and other leading names in  Petro-chemical industry.

Engineering students in their final year doing mechanical and piping, instrumentation, chemical, production or electronics and communication are eligible for free entry.
