The Intelligence Wing of the Commercial Taxes Department conducted a 24-hour raid on major railway stations in the state to confiscate goods transported without proper transit documents to evade tax payment.

The Intelligence Wing of the Commercial Taxes Department conducted a 24-hour raid on major railway stations in the state to confiscate goods transported without proper transit documents to evade tax payment.

The raid, led by the Deputy Commissioners of T’Puram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode started at 6 am on Friday. Officials said that Rs 16,44,000 was collected as fine by evening. The goods included readymade wears, medical equipment and electric goods. A major chunk of the seizure was from the stations in Ernakulam.
