A cine-drama, ‘Advocate Balachandra Menon Prathikoottil’ will be staged in the city as part of the 13th anniversary celebrations and award night of ‘Kalanidhi Centre for Arts, Culture and Research’ at VJT Hall at 6 pm on Friday. In the play, actors Balachandra Menon, Poornima Jayaram, Lekshmi, Ambika and Jalaja will do cameo.
Scripting is by Rajeev Gopalakrishnan and direction by Ajayan V S.
The award night will be inaugurated by actor Madhu at 5 pm.
Nedumudi Harikumar, director of Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature, will preside over the function.
The awards to presented are, Karma Shreshta Award, Vikasana Shreshta Award, Karma Keerthi Award, Kalaratna Award, Madhyama Ratna Award, Dhrishya Ratna Award, Madhyama Shree Award, Shravya Ratna Award, Vidya Shreshta Award and Excellent Awards. District Collector of Nadiya in West Bengal P B Salim will be honoured on the occasion.
