The District Collector has suspended Parassala Government Hospital superintendent Dr Vatsala for possessing a Below Poverty Line (BPL) card illegally. The Civil Supplies officials had found that the doctor and her family were using the BPL card for a long time. The Civil Supplies office had launched a drive against ineligible BPL card holders. In the last two months, it had traced around 4,000 illegal BPL card-holders.
The Supply Officer said that the drive against such card-holders will be intensified in the coming days.
