The mural department of Creant art gallery, Sasthamangalam, will be conducting classes on the authentic mural style painting from May first week. The classes will teach those who are interested in art to try out Kerala style mural painting on canvasses. There are no age limits to the classes, which will impart intricate methods of mural art in the process. The classes, which will highlight the importance of mural art in Kerala, also intend to spread awareness about this extincting art while exploring its marketing possibilities. The gallery is also planning to conduct workshops under the guidance of renowned mural artists from the state on the sidelines of regular classes. The syllabus comprises seminars, discussions, demonstrations of the famous works, visits to places where the students can see and learn from famous mural art works and exhibitions of students’ art works.
