Social Activists Directed to Submit Asset Statements

All social activists, excluding government employees, should submit their asset and liability statements as well as that of their family members who are dependent on them before the Lokayukta, a Kerala Government directive said the other day.

All social activists, excluding government employees, should submit their asset and liability statements as well as that of their family members who are dependent on them before the Lokayukta, a Kerala Government directive said the other day. The statement has to be filed once in every two years before June 30 to the Registrar of the Kerala Lokayukta. The directive is applicable to all district-level office-bearers of political parties and trade unions including the chairman, vice-chairman, president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer.

According to the statement, chairman, vice-chairman and other members of all local bodies and other statutory bodies, co-operative societies, Corporations, government companies and Boards formed under the laws of the Kerala Legislature functioning in the state will have to submit their asset and liability statements.

The office-bearers of schools under an individual or corporate management, receiving grants from the government, were also asked to submit the statement. Colleges affiliated to any university of the state also comes under the law. The statement should be filed before June 30 to the Registrar, Kerala Lokayukta, Legislative Assembly Building, Vikas Bhavan P O, T’Puram-695033. The form is available at www.lokayuktakerala.gov.in.
