Seven candidates are set to contest in the bypoll to the Attipra ward of the City Corporation which will take place on May 22. Out of the total eight candidates who had submitted nomination papers, one has withdrawn.
The final list of candidates is: Sreekala C (UDF), Sobha Sivadath (LDF), Yamuna R O (BJP) and Subhakumari L (Aam Aadmi Party) and independent candidates Sobha contesting with the symbol ‘cupboard’, Sreekala with ‘shuttlecock’ and Ajitha Kumari with ‘airplane’.
The candidates representing the political parties had filed their nomination papers on the first day of submitting papers, while the independent candidates carried out the procedure on Friday.
The counting of the votes is slated for May 23.
