 Addressing the post-cabinet media briefing, the Chief Minister said that projects by various departments to be included in the initiative during the remaining tenure of the State Government, were finalised at Wednesday’s cabinet meet. Bus fare hike and related issues would be discussed next week, the Chief Minister said. Regarding rain-related calamities, Chandy said the Revenue Minister had left for New Delhi to directly present the loss figures before the Centre.

‘’There was severe loss in the rain. There were about 10 deaths, many houses got damaged and there was big agricultural loss,’’ Chandy said.

 On petitions before the National Green Tribunal against the environmental clearance given to Vizhinjam project, the Chief Minister said there were some forces behind these petitioners. “It’s obvious that there are certain vested interests behind these petitioners.” he said.
