CPM Seeks Action Against Blade Mafia

The CPM has demanded action against the persons named in the suicide note of five members of a family who committed suicide here the other day, allegedly after threats from blade mafia.

The CPM has demanded action against the persons named in the suicide note of five members of a family who committed suicide here the other day, allegedly after threats from blade mafia. CPM district secretary Kadakampally Surendran said they should be charged with murder.

The blade mafia was thriving under the UDF Govt and also had the support of the police, he alleged. ‘’Several of the suicide cases reported in the district is related to blade mafia. And the latest example is the suicide of the family of Manoharan Asari of Kizhakemukkola,’’ he said.  Surendran also alleged that a racket was operating in the district under one Kannan. Though accused in several cases, he is being helped by local Congress leadership and the police, he alleged.

Manoharan had given a complaint to the police about the threat from goondas. However, the police did not take action on the compliant, Surendran alleged.
