DCC Predicts UDF Victory

The District Congress Committee block-level meeting held here on Sunday to analyse the election results concluded that the UDF candidates of both T’Puram and Attingal constituencies have a strong winning chance.

The meeting evaluated that in both the Lok Sabha constituencies the UDF candidates would be able to garner more than three lakh votes. Based on the mandalam-wise voting figures, the committee said that if in Attingal, those coming fourth and fifth get more than 20,000 votes, the majority of UDF candidate Bindu Krishna will shrink to 10,000 votes.

In T’Puram, where BJP claimed that its candidate O Rajagopal would win, the DCC opined that UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor would win by a majority of more than 20,000 votes.

‘’In T’Puram, the UDF will be able to get 2.90 lakh party votes while the LDF may get 2.60 lakh votes and the BJP 1.10 lakh votes. The victory margin will depend on the number of votes the candidates coming in fourth and fifth places will get ,” the committee said.
