Kerala Lalithakala Akademi photography awards for the year have been announced.
Basheer Kaderi from Thirurangadi, Malappuram, won the State award. The photo titled ‘A remembrance of old customs’ won him the award. The award consists of Rs 25,000 and a citation.
B S Biju from Kadavur, Kollam, and Mohammed Safi from Mookuthala, Malappuram, won ‘honourable mentions’. The photo titled ‘Morning rings of life’ won the honour for Biju while Safi won the award for the photograph titled ‘afflicted childhood’. Both honourable mentions carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation.
