THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 60-year-old woman was run over by a private bus at East Fort here on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Shantha, of Thaliyal, Karamana.
The police said that she was waiting for a bus near the entrance to the Gandhi Park.
The bus, while negotiating a curve, mowed down her around 11.20 am.
One of the rear wheels ran over her and she died on the spot.
Her body was shifted to the Medical College Hospital in a police ambulance.
The driver and the conductor of the bus are absconding. The police said that they had registered a case for rash and negligent driving.
Shantha is survived by daughters Prema and Selvi and son Ponnu.
