KRLCC Founding Day Fete on Friday

The 13th founding day celebrations of Kerala Regional Latin Catholic Council (KRLCC) will be held at Logos Pastoral Centre (John Paul II Nagar) in Neyyattinkara on Friday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 13th founding day celebrations of Kerala Regional Latin Catholic Council (KRLCC) will be held at Logos Pastoral Centre (John Paul II Nagar) in Neyyattinkara on Friday.

This year’s celebration is hosted by Latin Catholic Diocese of Neyyattinkara.

Labour Minister Shibu Baby John will inaugurate the delegates meet at 9.30 am. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the public meeting at 2.30 pm.

KRLCC president Archbishop Vincent Samuel will deliver the introductory speech. Former Minister Benoy Viswam will deliver the keynote address.

MLAs A T George and R Selvaraj, Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation director Sahayadas and KRLCC spokesperson Shaji George, among others, will address the meet.

Lida Jacob and Shaji George will lead a seminar on ‘Equal Justice through Political  Upliftment’.

The conference will put forward demands such as compensating the reservation loss faced by Latin Catholics owing to the implementation of Justice Narendran Commission report, doing away with the drawbacks of the Coastal Zone Management Act and implementing total ban on liquor, Neyyattinkara Diocese vicar general G Christudas told a press meet here on Monday.

An organising committee has been set up with Christudas as convenor for the celebrations. Around 500 delegates from the 12 dioceses of Kerala will take part in the delegate conference.
