Poll Defeat: CPI Appoints Panel

The CPI executive which met here on Tuesday appointed a three-member commission to probe into the defeat of party candidate Bennet Abraham in the LS polls.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The CPI executive which met here on Tuesday appointed a three-member commission to probe into the defeat of party candidate Bennet Abraham in the LS polls.  

The panel comprising executive members V Chamunni, K Sivaraman and P K Krishnan will probe the reasons which contributed to the party’s defeat here. According to sources in the CPI, the executive expressed strong displeasure over Pinarayi Vijayan’s controversial derogatory remarks against RSP leader N K Premachandran.

It also observed that the LDF had suffered a setback in Kollam following the exit of the RSP.
