Dies in Mishap

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man died in Parassuvaikkal on Sunday evening following an accident between his car and a KSRTC bus.

The deceased has been identified as Jayan from Parassuvaikkal.

A case has been registered with the Parassala police station.

The incident happened near Atham Jewellery, near Parassuvaikkal.

The police said that the car driver seemed to have been driving on the wrong side.

“However the fatality could have been avoided if the airbag inside the car did not burst,” they said.

Jayan was rushed to Parassuvaikkal Government Hospital  where he was declared brought dead.

He was in his late forties.

The conductor and some of the bus passengers had minor injuries as the bus suddenly came to a halt.

The police is examining the testimonies of all witnesses.

Theft in Provision Store

T’Puram: A provision store owner reported a theft from his store at the Karamana police station on Sunday.

Around Rs 4,600 was stolen. The store belongs to one Saifudeen.

The incident happened on Saturday night.
