Case Against ASI for Drunken Driving

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered against an ASI for drunken driving. The arrested, Krishnakumar, is a Grade ASI of Maranalloor police Station. He was arrested by the Malayinkeezhu police. He was driving a Maruti Ritz when he was stopped near Thachottukavu by the police. According to the Malayinkeezhu police, he was in an inebriated state at the time of arrest. He has now been released on bail.

Found Dead

A 50-year-old man was found dead inside the room of a private lodge near Medical College Hospital on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Suresh Babu. According to the Medical College police, Suresh had hanged himself to death.

Patient Hits Radiologist

A radiologist in the MCH here has registered a case against a patient. The patient got irked that she had to wait for long and hit the radiologist Suchitra on her face, the police said.The complainant is yet to identify the accused.

Dies in Car Accident

A 50-year-old woman died in a car accident in Kilimanoor.The deceased, Sharlet Thomas hailing from Kottayam, had been residing here.

The police said that she was in the backseat of her car when the car hit a coconut tree near SL Theatre in Kilimanoor. The driver escaped with minor injuries, the police said.

Four Held

The Kilimanoor Police arrested four people in connection with stealing rubber. The arrested have been identified as Shihabudeen Abubaker, 54, of Nellanadu; Badarudeen Kamarudeen, 49, of Nellanadu; Vijayakumar, 56, of Idaykkode and Basheer Sainulabdeen, 38, of Idaykkode.
