Ratio will be Modified: CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The student-teacher ratio in special schools in the state will be modified to ensure job security to the teachers. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The present ratio was fixed in 1969. As it was not modified, many teachers are under the threat of losing their jobs.

The ratio of matron, cook and warden considering the number of students has also not been renewed timely. The CM entrusted Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb to take a decision in this regard. He said that the Cabinet would take a decision regarding entrusting a nodal officer to look into the working of special schools.
