All Six Accused in Murder Attempt Case Arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The Chirayinkeezhu police nabbed the last of the six persons charged with an alleged murder attempt. Thirty two-year-old Binoj Bhuvanachandran from Azhoor was presented before the court and remanded in judicial custody. Among the six indicted, some had criminal antecedents. The officials said that Binoj has four cases registered against him. He is from Azhoor.

According to Sub-Inspector V S Prashant, rivalry between goonda gangs had led to the accused making an attempt on the life of the victim, Suresh Sivan, a 35-year-old from Azhoor. The latter was allegedly employed by Binoj’s team, as an informer.  The SI added that the accused had pulled 35-year-old Suresh into a car and was trying to flee. He said that it was the police who had intercepted the alleged attempt to kill. Though the accused ran away, the police  managed to nab each of them in an operation that spanned over two weeks, he said.

Accused in Murder Case Arrested

The Pothencode Police on Friday arrested a man absconding since the murder attempt on a neighbour, over three years ago.

The accused has been identified as Nasruddin of Pothencode. According to officials, the accused and the victim Naushad had an altercation over a piece of land. “The heated argument turned violent when Nasruddin hit Naushad on his head with an iron rod.

Naushad who had fainted was taken to a private hospital. The accused fled the spot and went into hiding.

He was spotted by some policemen two weeks ago at Pothencode and was intercepted.

The accused has been produced before the Magistrate and remanded in  judicial custody,” an official said.
