THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the death of film and television actor Shilpa visited the residences of the deceased and her lover on Sunday and collected evidence.
The team led by City Police Control Room Assistant Commissioner A Pramod had earlier secured the custody of the 19-year-old actress’ lover Lijin, 24, who was arrested and remanded in connection with her death. He is accused of abetting suicide. According to the police, the SIT visited the residences of Shilpa at Nemom and Lijin at Ottasekharamangalam near Kattakkada here and collected evidence. The police said they have also recorded statements from Shilpa’s peers.
However, Pramod said that the police, which launched a probe on Thursday, were still under the presumption that Shilpa had committed suicide.
The SIT launched the probe after Shilpa’s parents filed a complaint before the state police chief. The actor’s body was found floating on the Killi river at Maruthoorkadavu on July 18.
