All Set for 'Vavubali'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The corporation is going full steam ahead with its preparations for the ‘Vavubali’ rituals this year. In order to discuss the preparatory steps and the facilities for ‘Vavubali’ ritual in the city, the corporation called a meet of the concerned authorities and officers here the other day. The meeting, which was held at the auditorium of Parashuramakshetram in Thiruvallom, was presided over by Mayor K Chandrika.

The corporation has been given the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at the temple premises and the areas adjacent to it where the Vavubali rituals will carried out.

Instructions have been given to the KSEB authorities to improve the streetlight facilities in the area while the city police has been given directions towards increasing security and installing CCTVs in the area. The corporation has also urged the Devaswom authorities and Kerala Water Authority to take steps to ensure that proper drinking water facilities are set up for people who will arriving here to perform ‘Vavubali’ rituals. They have also been directed to set up facilities where the pilgrims can freshen up after the ritual.

The corporation authorities also instructed the police and Devaswom Board authorities to guide the VIPs who will be arriving at the temple on the particular day. The DMO has been instructed to set up a medical team for the assistance of the pilgrims. Directions has been given to the Health Officer and Health Inspector at Thiruvallom to take legal steps to control the influx of illegal traders during the time of the festivities. Corporation councillors A J Sukarno, S Salim, A J Krishnaveni, Circle Inspector of Police, Nemom, KSEB executive engineer, KWA assistant executive engineer, Parasuramakshetra administrative officer Devaswom Board, Thiruvallom health inspector and Parasuramakshetra Development Committee representative attended the meet.
