THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 32-year-old autorickshaw driver died in an accident on Monday night after his autorickshaw collided head-on with a pick-up van on the NH bypass stretch near Muttathara.
The deceased has been identified as Muthukrishnan, a resident of Karamana. The city traffic police registered a case in connection with the accident. According to the police, the accident occurred around 10 30 pm when the speeding pick-up van carrying flowers from Thovalai in Tamil Nadu to a retailer at Chakkai, lost control and rammed into the autorickshaw. Van driver Karthik, who is a native of Dindigul, is in custody.
