Permanent Status for Kerala SC/ST Staff Sought

The SC/ST Employees Joint Welfare Society Kerala has approached Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SC/ST Employees Joint Welfare Society Kerala on Tuesday has approached Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to promote SC and ST government employees to have a permanent status.

The demand was raised during the 12th birth anniversary celebration of B R Ambedkar. Employees who have worked on a regular basis for the last five years under temporary contracts were asked to produce their biodata on August 15, the society’s general secretary K Thulasidharan said.

Eligible candidates are requested to be present at the Cochin Tourist Home near Ernakulam South Railway Station in Ernakulam between 10 am and 5 pm on Saturday.

Thulasidharan said that the association was demanding those SC/ST employees working in government, public, board, company, corporation and co-operative institutions be promoted to permanent posts in their respective departments.
