THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Agriculture Department has chosen actors Sreenivasan and Jayaram for the first ever Samashti Award. The award has been instituted this year to honour noted personalities from cinema and allied fields who show an interest in agriculture. Agriculture Minister K P Mohanan said that the two actors have been able to inspire an interest in agriculture among the people. M M Dominic from Thiruvambadi, Calicut, took home the ‘Karshakothama Award’. Mundoor Poriyani Padasekhara Samithi from Palakkad won the Mithranikethan Padmasree K Vishwanathan Memorial Nelkathir Award.
