THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The Vinayaka Chathurthi festival at Sree Mangala Vinayaka Temple at Neeramankara here will be held from August 16 to 18.
On the morning of August 16 and 17, there would be four rounds of Ganapathy sahasranama archana and ekadasa rudrajapom.
In addition to maha Ganapathy homam using 108 dry coconuts and other ingredients, tantric rituals such as ‘rudram - chamakam jampam’, ‘navakom’, ‘kalasam’ and kalabhabhishekam’ will be held on Vinayaka Chathurthi day.
The pujas on Vinayaka Chathurthy day will be held under the supervision of temple tantri Brahmashree Vasudevan Parameswaran Bhattathirippad.
Cultural programmes include music concerts commencing at 6.45 pm by Saranya Kishore on August 16 and Rajashree Warrier on August 17, violin, mridangam and ghatam by Padma Krishnan, G Babu and Trivandrum Rajesh.
The festival will conclude with Sahasranama Japam, Upanishad Paarayanam and Grama Pradakshinam of the deity commencing at 9 pm and concluding at 3 am on the next day.
