THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The 56th All-India Railway Aquatic Championship (Swimming and water polo) will be held at Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) at Kariyavattom, here from Monday to August 27.
Diving events will be held at the International Swimming Pool complex at Pirappancode. Several national and international swimmers from the country will participate. Southern Railway sports association is hosting the championship. The opening ceremony will be held at LNCPE at 8.15 am.
Vashishta Johri, general manager, Southern Railway will be the chief guest. S Rajiv, vice-president of Swimming Federation of India, and Member of Asian Swimming Federation, Anantha Raman, Chief Operations Manager and President of Southern Railway Sports Association will attend the function.
