DMO Warns against Diseases

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The District Medical Office(DMO) has warned people against jaundice, diarrhoea and food poisoning during onam season. He also asked the people to be cautious against spurious liquor.

The DMO said that personal hygiene is most important in keeping away diseases during Onam. Food should be prepared only in hygienic conditions. Vegetables and fruits should only be used after washing them properly.

As people travel more during the Onam season, the DMO has asked the people to take precaution against vector borne diseases and H1N1. In case of any symptoms, they should approach the nearest hospital, the DMO said.
