THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A phone call on Sunday evening about a bomb allegedly planted in the Chief Minister’s Office at Secretariat sent the security agencies and city police on their toes. The police discovered it was a hoax call made by a 28-year-old local person.
The police control room received a call about a bomb placed in the CM’s office from a mobile number around 6 pm on Sunday, officials said. “A police team was alerted and attempts to trace the mobile number led to a person at Peyad in the outskirts of the city. Eventually, we sent a police team and arrested 28-year-old Jayakrishnan,” the officer said. “Jayakrishnan was brought to Cantonment police station and interrogation was on under the control room assistant commissioner. He denied making any hoax calls. A probe has been initiated to check the antecedents of the person and the reason behind the call. The Chief Minister’s office was inspected and verified,” the official said.
