THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Redrawlife, a community that indulges in hiking, trekking and other outdoor activities all over India, has made this summer in Kerala all the more exciting, with the launch of tandem para-motoring.
The first event, which began at Azhikode beach, Thrissur, on May 6, will end on Wednesday. “We had initially planned to conclude on May 9, but due to its wide acceptance among the audience, we have extended it. We are planning to conduct this at Cherai beach as soon as we get the permission from the authorities,” says Joel Kuriakose, founder of Redrawlife.
Para-motoring, just like paragliding, takes the rider a few hundred meters above the ground. The thrust that the air provides when jumping from a hill while paragliding is provided by a motor attached to the glider.
Tandem para-motoring takes the rider 1500 m above the Arabian Sea for a 15 minutes flight. The cost per person is Rs. 3500, and a pilot accompanies the rider for the flight.
“We have qualified pilots who have a lot of experience in para-motoring. They will take you on the flight when the whether conditions are clear. It is our duty to ensure your safety,” says Joel.
