THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A police officer attached to the AR camp in the city was arrested by the Attingal police on Wednesday for creating nuisance to the public, allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The police identified the accused as Sreenivasan, 45, who is in the rank of a civil police officer. Police said the incident occurred at 4.30 pm at Attingal town after the accused arrived at Kachery junction for a special duty to give protection to VIPs for a public function.
He reached the spot after consuming alcohol and started hurling abuses at the local people. When his behaviour went beyond tolerance, the local people informed the police and they took him to the police station. He was arrested and produced before the magistrate.
