More Weekend Special Fare Trains

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The Southern Railways has introduced more weekend trains, that charge more than regular service, between Chennai Central and Ernakulam. The special fare superfast express will start from Chennai Central at 10.30 pm on April 1 (Friday) to reach Ernakulam Junction at 10.45 am the next day.

In return trip, The train will leave Ernakulam Jn at 7.00 pm on April 3 (Sunday) to reach Chennai Central at 07.15 am the following Monday.

With a composition of one 2AC, two 3AC and 12 sleeper class coaches, the train will have stops at Aluva, Thrissur, Ottappalam, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem,  Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Arakkonam stations.

In addition, the train towards Chennai will have additional stoppage at Perambur and train towards Ernakulam will have stop at Ernakulam Town.

On Monday, it had announced higher charge special train from Chennai Central on April 13 to Ernakulam Junction and return trip on April 17.

Suvidha special trains have a minimum fare equivalent to tatkal fares and would increase after every 20 per cent of seats/berths in a train was booked, subject to a maximum of three times the tatkal fares.
