THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Corporation opened a park for kids at Kannammoola. There are various facilities for children to play including swings, slides, seesaw etc. Along with the children’s park Kannammoola ward gets a renovated office of Health Inspector. Road towards the office has been built with interlock tiles. Mayor V K Prasanth inaugurated the facilities.

The works were completed by spending Rs 13 lakh from the people’s plan project. Deputy Mayor Rakhi Ravikumar presided over the function. Vattiyoorkavu MLA, K Muralidharan was the chief guest. Ward councillor and chairman of the Town Planning Standing Committee R Sathishkumar gave the welcome speech. Chairperson of Welfare Standing Committee Geetha Gopal spoke on the occasion. Health Inspector of Medical College circle Vykundan made the vote of thanks.

Plastic collection drive

Corporation is starting a plastic collection drive on July 15. Several centres will be set up in the city and the public can give away plastic waste items there. The centres are in Technopark, Chakkai, Sreekaryam, Kesavadasapuram, Putharikandom, Sasthamangalam, Karamana. The collection starts from 9 am till 1 pm. Only plastic bags which have been cleaned will be accepted at counters.
