THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram region, which covers schools in Kerala and Lakshadweep, recorded the highest pass percentage - 95.62 per cent -  in the country in the CBSE Class XII examinations. The results were announced in New Delhi on Sunday.

Out of 34,959 candidates appeared, 33,334 were cleared for higher studies. Last year, the pass percentage in the T’Puram region had stood at 97.4%. Kerala bagged individual honours too. Ajay R Raj of St Thomas School, Mukkolakal, T'Puram, topped the differently-abled category at the national level with 490 marks.  In this category, Lakshmi P V of Palghat Lions School, Palakkad, came second with 486 marks, while Dharshana M V of Nalanda International Public School, Krishnagiri, TN, came third (483 marks).
