‘Assault’ by teacher: Student hospitalised 

A 14-year-old student has been admitted to the Karakonam Medical College after allegedly being assaulted by an NCC instructor at his school at Ottasekharamangalam.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 14-year-old student has been admitted to the Karakonam Medical College after allegedly being assaulted by an NCC instructor at his school at Ottasekharamangalam. The parents of the boy alleged he was slapped below the left ear on October 26 and he was still under treatment. According to the victim’s father - identified as Radhakrishnan of Vazhichal - the incident took place when a youth festival celebration at the school was progressing. A group of students. including the boy. allegedly had a fight with a few schoolmates.

Following that, the headmaster intervened and NCC instructor Praveen Krishna slapped him. 
Soon, the boy’s mother was summoned to the school. The boy later collapsed at his residence. His mother found blood coming out of his ear.   However, the police have not registered any case so far as no complaint was received. But the statements from the school authorities and child have been recorded by the police.
