Report alleges ‘insider’ hand in food poisoning incident in G V Raja School

The recent case of food poisoning was reported recently when around 37 inmates, including girls, fell sick after having dinner from the hostel canteen.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police will look into recurring instances of food poisoning at G V Raja School, Mailom, even as reports emerged the Special Branch in one of its files have expressed suspicion about the role of ‘insiders’ behind the incident.

The recent case of food poisoning was reported recently when around 37 inmates, including girls, fell sick after having dinner from the hostel canteen. They were initially not allowed to seek treatment at the hospital but later the school authorities relented after the news spread out.

Now, the Special Branch is learnt to have hinted at the involvement of some of the staffs in the case.
Thiruvananthapuram rural district police chief P Ashok Kumar refused to confirm whether the Special Branch has filed any such reports, but added they have obtained some information and are working on it. Meanwhile, school principal C S Pradeep was not available for comment.
