e-RCMS facility launched

All services, including filing applications for new ration cards, will be available online.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Services related to ration cards have gone online from Wednesday. Customers can access the online ration card management system (RCMS) services in three ways: By logging on to civilsupplieskerala.gov.in, the official website of the Civil Supplies Department; by downloading the ‘Ente Ration Card’ app via Google Play and through the Akshaya centres, Civil Supplies Minister P Thilothaman said.

All services, including filing applications for new ration cards, are now available online, the minister said. The services will turn full-fledged in a month’s time. State Informatics Officer Mohandas received the first ration card processed after filing an online application from the minister. At the Akshaya centres, the customer will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 for filing applications for new ration cards and Rs 35 for all other online RCMS services, IT secretary M Sivasankar said. Al precautions have been taken to ensure the security of data entered online, Civil Supplies secretary Mini Antony said.
