THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two habitual offenders accused of attacking a shadow policeman on duty were arrested by the Nemom police on Friday. The arrested have been identified as Shanavas, 37, and Shibin, 29, both hailing from Pravachambalam.

The Nemom police said the duo attacked civil police officer Shibu, attached with a shadow unit, near Pravachambalam railway station on June 14.

The police got a tip-off that the duo was engaged in ganja peddling and to crosscheck the information, Shibu was sent to the area on his motorcycle. Since the duo had been to the station times before, mostly for ganja-related cases, they identified Shibu as a cop.
