Elizabeth Ferris visits NORKA-ROOTS office

TIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Elizabeth Ferris, an expert in migration-related topic and acting director of Georgetown University’s Institute for the Study of International Migration, visited the NORKA-ROOTS main office here on Thursday. She was received by NORKA-ROOTS resident vice chairman K Varadarajan, chief executive officer K Harikrishnan Nambuthiri and staffs. Ferris is a well known name in the international academic circuit and serves as the codirector of the Brookings-LSE Project on Internal Displacement. She is also a commissioner of the Women’s Refugee Commission, a distinguished author and a lifelong humanitarian.

Ferris also held talks with experts who are working in sectors related to migration. Kerala Non-Resident Keralites Welfare Board chairman P T Kunju Muhammed, State Planning Board chairman K N Harilal, Centre for Diaspora Studies direetor M S Jayakumar took part in the talks.
