Temple city set for Independence Day celebrations

Tirupati is all set for the 70th Independence Day as the Andhra Pradesh government is planning to conduct grand celebrations in the temple town this year.

VIJAYAWADA: Tirupati is all set for the 70th Independence Day as the Andhra Pradesh government is planning to conduct grand celebrations in the temple town this year.  There will a tableaux parade and many other cultural events like the I-Day parade in New Delhi. After bifurcation of the State, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had decided to conduct the I-Day celebrations at different places every year. This year, Tirupati gets the chance.    Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar is reviewing the arrangements on a regular basis from July last week to make the event a grand success.

According to official sources, as many as 12 tableaux from various government departments and boards are getting ready for the parade.

Various departments or boards and the subject of their tableau (in brackets) are: Agricultural Department (Rythu Bandhu, Runa Mafi schemes),  APCRDA (Amaravati plan), Electrical and Energy Department (LED bulb distribution, solar and wind energy), Water Resource Department (Pattiseema, Polavaram projects and Neeru-Chettu), Medical and Health Department (Talli Bidda Express, CM Arogya Kendra, Chandranna kits), Education Department (Badi Pilustondi, free bicycles for girls, English medium promotion), Forest Department (red sanders protection, Vanam-Manam), Rural and Urban Housing Department (Housing), Tourism Department (tourist places), and TTD (Tirumala temple), Swachh Bharat (bio-toilets).
