VIJAYAWADA: Students should inculcate new ideas in order to contribute to the nation’s development, said Prof. V. Valli Kumari, CEO, AP Innovation Society, at a two-day national seminar sponsored by the University Grants Commission on ‘Innovation Management - A Strategic Imperative for Growth’. It was organised by P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Valli Kumari said, “It’s the right time to emerge as entrepreneurs for youngsters as Amaravathi, the capital city, is being built. Students should take part in the development,” she added. V. Babu Rao, director of the institution, said, “Unless the students, who want to become entrepreneurs, come up with innovative ideas, they cannot survive in the market. Think and do things differently to elevate yourself.”

“The city has the potential to encourage new start-ups but the youths are not actively taking steps in that direction,” said Sree Krishna Seelam, a member of Start-up Squid. He added that Start-up Squid will help students to establish new ventures.Several other students pitched in with start-up ideas, which were thoroughly discussed in the interactive session.
