VIJAYAWADA: The oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected Gollapudi Market Yard chairman Komma Koteswara Rao Chowdary alias Kotlu caused a severe inconvenience to the public when his supporters and local Telugu Desam Party leaders organised a bike rally on the National Highway at Gollapudi on Sunday evening.
Following the rally, traffic on Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway came to a standstill for some time and police failed to control the youth who scared public with bike stunts and firecrackers.
When irked locals complained over the disturbance, city police assured that they would file cases against the organisers for taking out the rally without taking permission, causing inconvenience to the public.
Meanwhile, wall posters against Koteswara Rao describing the pending criminal cases against him pasted in Gollapudi area on Sunday requesting residents not to encourage such corrupt leader.
