‘Daring and Dashing Boys’ held in Andhra Pradesh for blackmailing youth

The police on Tuesday arrested five youths of ‘Daring and Dashing Boys’ gang, who were allegedly involved in ganja peddling and blackmailing their customers by luring them into immoral activities.

VIJAYAWADA: The West Zone police on Tuesday arrested five youths of ‘Daring and Dashing Boys’ gang, who were allegedly involved in ganja peddling and blackmailing their customers by luring them into immoral activities. The accused were identified as Praveen Kumar (27), Muthyam Nagaraju (21), P Sai Durga Varaprasad (21), his brother P Sivarama Krishna (20) and M Vijaya Babu (21) of Bhavanipuram.

Presenting them before mediapersons, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Shaik Nawab Jaan said that police had taken cognisance of media reports about the activities of the gang, going by the name of ‘Daring and Dashing Boys’. Following the news reports, police monitored the movement of old offender Praveen Kumar. When police took him into custody, shocking facts came to light. The modus operandi of the gang is to trap innocent youngsters by befriending them.
